liberalism is a religion. all evidence demonstrates that their 18th-century faith in the "marketplace of ideas" (as well as the "marketplace" in general) was misplaced. the deadliest war in history was fought over this. but they keep the faith regardless, and get angry when you point out contradictory evidence, only reasserting their faith in liberalism's essential goodness when followed correctly


fascism won out in the "marketplace of ideas." that was the lesson of liberalism. markets don't lead to good results, they lead to marketable results.

being exposed to fascist ideas doesn't make people go "oh, look at how wrong this is." people aren't rational. advertising exploits people's emotions, and propaganda is political advertising.
