The world has always been multicultural; ethnonationalism is a failure with a high bodycount.

@kittybecca I’m reading a book called Native Southerners by GD Smithers and it’s quite startling just how fluid the social categories were in just 300 years. Whole confederacies just sprang up in response to European colonialism and then broke apart again.

So yeah, this is true of basically everywhere. I know the early Britons had a multitude of tribes as well.
