@derpayatz I don't know about "never use compound characters" but I am not an expert

@nev those specific compound characters are usually used but I don't like using them because they are a relic of fixed width typewriter fonts and inconsistent with contemporary typesetting standards. The ײַ character has to be compound because of issues with the pasekh

@nev tbh I'm thinking about switching to never using combined characters even for stuff like אָ, but to be honest it means I have to really trust my font and in general I hate messing with the dots...
